Remarks & Notes |
Three D&RGW SD45's power a loaded Kaiser coal train passing the station sign at Summit and destined for the (closed in the early 1980's) Kaiser Steel Mill at Fontana, CA. The Union Pacific worked the joint D&RGW-UP-AT&SF train from Utah to Barstow, CA where the complete train with motive power was turned over to the Santa Fe which added helpers on the rear and took it over Cajon Pass to Fontana. The entire train with Santa Fe helpers and UP caboose can be seen in this view. |
