After Amtrak took over the Reno Fun Train, it has had a series of different equipment. In March of 1989, the F40's were pulling a combination of Amtrak Superliners and ex-Santa Fe hi-levels (converted to HEP). AMTK 297 is leading the way as the train approaches Alder Creek which, as an historical side note, was where George and Tamsen Donner actually had their camp, separate from the main group.
