In a very Andrew Blaszczyk-like shot, Ballard Terminal Railroads single locomotive, "Ballards Li'l Beaver", manages its way though decaying buildings, seaport industry, and the occasional car parked on the tracks. The lone Alco S1 switches 7 industries along a 1.5 mile section of track that was slated to become part of the Burke-Gilman trail in the late 90's. The businesses in the area got together and bought the rails for $700,000 and set up the railroad, preventing Seattle from making another stupid, poorly-thought-out rails-to-trails mistake. I believe this is the smallest shortline railroad in the State of Washington and its certainly fun to watch!
