A train from Amtrak's Michigan Service (The Wolverine or the Blue Water), done for the day, heads for the wash. It has reversed direction, will clear this crossing, and when the switch is thrown, head into the Amtrak facility for servicing.
Amtrak has three routes that connect Michigan with Chicago, but none to the East or South. The routes are: Wolverine - Pontiac - Chicago; Blue Water - Port Huron - Chicago, and Pere Marquette - Grand Rapids - Chicago.
