The Brooklyn waits at Main Street in downtown Los Angeles for clearance into the Los Angeles Transportation Center. It's lead unit is a very clean ES44AC. Union Pacific calls these units C45AC-CTE. CTE stands for Controlled Tractive Effort. These units can have their tractive effort dialed up or down depending on if they are working a coal drag, or a comparibly light intermodal. The 45 designtation, instead of 44, is to differentiate these units from AC4400CWs with CTE, which UP calls C44AC-CTE. #7709 was delivered July 4, 2007.
