New York, Susquehanna & Western RS1 252 was painted for the country's Bicentenial Celebration. Here she's seen working the Edgewater yard in front of the already long abandoned Ford Plant (which is behind me out of the shot). RS1 252 arrived on the NYSW in Fall of 1947. Unlike earlier RS1s the railroad received, 252 and her batch-mates were freight only, lacking steam generators.
Displays of American pride, and spirit! Equipment painted Red, White, and Blue! With an honored salute and tribute to our veterans and troops added too! Patriots can still be found to join this gathering of Patriotic Pride!
