A rare Baldwin RS12 (46 built), this is essentially an S12 with a lenghtened frame, AAR type B road trucks and a short hood. Travel Town received it as part of a complex trade with Kyle that returned a Oahu Railroad 4-6-0 back to Hawaii. The tall short hood was for a steam generator or dynamic brakes, in this case, the vents cool dynamic brake resistors. The 56 started life on the McCloud River as their #33 April, 1955. ON CWR it pulled "Skunk" passenger trains in tourist season.
