Two Penn Central FL9s in MTA Blue and Yellow back onto the "Lake Shore Limited" in order to take it the final 33 miles into Grand Central Terminal. My recollection is that in 1977, Conrail owned FL9s pulled that standard equuipment Amtrak trains in third rail territory (Amtrak's six Morrison-Knudson rebuilt FL9s replaced them in 1978). In the far, far distance, you can make out the two E units that brought the train in from Chicago. |
