This picture sums up LA railfanning for me... tagged units behind a chain link fence. These two are sunning in BNSF's former Santa Fe Hobart Yard, named after the brief-lived town of Hobart, CA, which was folded into Vernon. Former ATSF GP35u #2595 is approaching 43 years old... that's like a 100 in people years. It was delivered as #1459 in November of 1965. Before being rebuilt in January of 1979, it had become #3459. As a GP35u, it's been both #2959 and now, #2595.
