Remarks & Notes |
Four Santa Fe engines, now working for BNSF, wait at the Water Street grade crossing alongside Neptune on the Pacific Harbor Line San Pedro Sub. These units are power for the Slab train from Pasha Marine to Kaiser (Cal Steel Ind at Fontana). They will head down to Berths 144 & 145 to pick up their train when on duty just after dark. The further track is a wye to the old Pacific Electric San Pedro Line northbound. Today that track and this grade crossing are both gone. This area is now an inaccessible containter staging area. The stacks are part of the Department of Water and Power Harbor plant. |
