Dominated by the power station, this was the sight that greeted visitors to Wakefield MPD. The shed was easily accessed off Doncaster Road and was approached by a short, steep 'cinder path' as lovingly described in the (unofficial) guidebook to such delights. Ten locomotives are visible including 'WD's', '9F's', a Fairburn 2-6-4 tank and two 'B1's Nos. 61123 and 61131
