Remarks & Notes
Nine BR '9F's survived into preservation. Arguably the most succesful of the 'Standard' designs, they were equally at home on freight or passenger duties. They had short lives due to indecently hasty dieselisation and loss of traffic to the roads. 92212 was Swindon-built in 1959 and withdrawn in 1968. She is shown striding purposefully away from Bury, the imposing spire of Bury Parish Church on the skyline.
