Remarks & Notes 
The oldest named train on the SP, "The Del Monte" is crossing the Salinas River after leaving the SP mainline at Castroville and heading down the Monterey Branch. Today's train has several commute "subs" in the consist for the extra passengers making one last ride. The next day, April 30th 1971, the train will make its las trip.
