No, this is not a photo charter, nor is the clag by special request - it's just the natural result of a steam loco battling a particularly severe gradient. K1 class 62005 has lifted the 'East Coast Explorer' railtour up the 1 in 50 from Crag Hall and is starting to accelerate as it reaches the headland at Hunt Cliff. The line is the freight-only stub of the former through route from Whitby to Middlesbrough, and I have no idea when a steam loco last worked a train in this direction - but it's many years ago. |
