| This is 'Green Arrow's' re-restoration inaugural run from Huddersfield to Carlisle, a send-off complete with brass band and Huddersfield's Mayor presiding. I had spoken to the station-master a week before the run to check from which platform she was scheduled to depart. I realised the choice (Platform 4) would be in complete shadow, I asked if she could leave from Platform 2 in the centre road. To my amazement he not only agreed but gave me a lineside pass to stand between the tracks on the proviso he "got a print". This now adorns his office! |
