Pictured in 2005, Scarborough's Falsgrave signalbox, celebrated its 100th birthday in 2007. The box won the Westinghouse Signaling Award at the National Railway Heritage Awards, presented at a ceremony at the Merchant Taylors Hall in London. For 100 years, the box has been the first sight passengers saw on arrival in Scarborough. It is a testament to the enduring skills of Britain's Victorian railway engineers and has seen thousands of trains - and literally millions of passengers - come and go at the east coast holiday resort.
