Remarks & Notes |
The 'Tees-Don' (two rivers for non-UK viewers) railtour from Eaglescliffe in Cleveland to Barrow Hill in Derbyshire paired the two surviving 'K' class 2-6-0's. 'K4' No.61994 is piloting, whilst the train engine is 'K1' No.62005. They are heading south past the long-gone station at the deliciously named hamlet of Burton Salmon. A very stiff westerly wind threatened to obscure the train with the exhaust. Indeed, the 'gallery' of photographers who can be seen on the remains of the old loading bay experienced just that. Fortunately, as the duo approached my position the exhaust lifted momentarily and I went home happy! |
