Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway No.957 was built in 1887 by Beyer Peacock & Co. of Gorton, Manchester. The L&Y had hundreds of similar 0-6-0 tender engines that served faithfully during the Victorian, Edwardian, Georgian and Elizabethan monarchies, some surviving until the early 1960's. This weekend 957 will be helping her home line, the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, celebrate their 40th anniversary.
