Whilst waiting for a steam special, I heard a cheery "come in lad, bring yer dog 'ave a cuppa tea". This signalman made tea (& biscuits), gave me a potted guide to the box, explained the bell codes and gave me due warning of the arrival of the train. He then told me the best position for the photo, even though this was on railway land. There are clues in the image as to where this courtesy, kindness and consideration was given. It certainly WASN'T Elland box where my pleasant request for a photograph spot was met with "go forth and multiply". Nice chap.
