Remarks & Notes |
NS 23G coming through the Bristol Yard after a crew change and under the Mary Street Bridge. The concrete Mary Street Bridge has been over the yard since 1918 but the original wooden structure dated back to the 1870's. During those 1870's the bridge was used to hang a man who had commited a horrible crime. No one knows what the crime was but it is said he hung off the bridge for a week or two and there are even photographs of trains passing under him. |
