Remarks & Notes |
One of the worlds most unusual stations ? Nid d'Aigle is the upper terminus of the Mont Blanc Tramway at 2372 m (7800 ft). The line reaches the station through a tunnel visible just behind the train. About the only infrastructure is a short length of steep track and a catenery pole. In this shot, walkers leave the station area to hike either to the Bionnassay glacier, or to use the network of trails in the mountains. |
