Here is the older, darker Leeds that still lurks, almost apologetically beneath the 'Emperor's New Clothes'. In spite of being a locomotive designed principally for freight (and seventy years ago at that), 48151 has made good time with the 'Scarborough Spa Express' and leaves Leeds for York (via Harrogate) in soft evening light. The River Aire flows languidly below the viaduct opened in 1849.
