On a crisp autumn morning, GWR 3200 “Dukedog” Class 4-4-0 no. 9017 “Earl of Berkeley” (visiting from the Bluebell Railway) crosses Oldbury Viaduct at Daniel’s Mill with the 09.15 Bridgnorth to Kidderminster at the Severn Valley Railway’s 2008 Autumn Steam Gala. The mill and its grounds were severely damaged by floods in June 2007, and the railway suffered £5m of damage. The 3200 “Dukedog” Class were built using the frames of the Bulldog class, and with boilers from the Duke class, hence the nickname.
