Remarks & Notes |
Darnholm Gorge is a dramatic and picturesque cleft that cuts deeply into the North York Moors plateau. It also makes a hard task for locomotives climbing towards Goathland station (about 1/2 mile in front of the loco). Earlier today, 'Black 5' No.45212 was making heavy weather of the ascent, but it made a great image when viewed from above. |
