Britain's most powerful 4-4-0 were (and are) the Southern Railway 'Class V' or 'Schools' class. Three of the 40 survive, but 'Repton', a 1934 Eastleigh product, is the only one in traffic. Thankfully 'Repton' is not fitted with the efficient (but disfiguring) LeMaitre exhaust with its ugly chimney. Her she enters the lovely tree-lined section between Moorgates and Fen Bog on her journey towards Pickering.
