Locomotives running bunker first, were much more prevelant (especially with tank engines) than the photographic archive might indicate. Here's one to address this oversight, as 47324 a Glasgow-built 'Jocko' (the railwayman's nickname for the class), passes fragrant, newly-mown meadows at Burrs. The popularity of the class might be partly due to the excellent visibility when running in reverse - as can be clearly seen from this image.
