Remarks & Notes |
A detouring Coast Starlight on the old SP Saugus Line (Metrolink's Valley Sub) passes through Canyon Country at railroad Lang, about to enter Tunnel 18 under Capra Road. This is one of about half a dozen planned detours of Amtrak's Los Angeles to Seattle trains due to tunnel floor clearance work being done on the Coast Line's Cuesta Grade. While you can't usually take an Amtrak on this line, commuter trains run daily over it (Metrolink's Antelope Valley service to Lancaster). The highway bridge in the distance is the Antelope Valley Freeway (Route 14). The paralleling roadway is Soledad Canyon Road. |
