| NS SD40-2s 3368 and 3344 hold manifest 36A back as it emerges from the New Portage Tunnel and begins to descend The Slide. The head end of westbound manifest 11K has just entered the Allegheny Tunnel (we just missed a front end-rear end meet by seconds). The Humvees on the head end on 36A can be seen on the ledge across the valley. Also note the difference in snow between the summit in the foreground and the dusting on the field in the distance. |
