Remarks & Notes |
This 80-Ton Diesel used by the Utility Rail Branch at Fort Eustis was built in the mid-1950’s by General Electric. The Army rebuilt this 80-tonner in 1989 to be equipped with Cummins 6 Cylinder Turbos. This rebuild included the addition of end radiator screens (not visible from this angle) and duel headlights. Along with the engine, the electrical fuses and air compressor can be seen as this critter exposes itself in Gray Rail Shop. |
