| South bound CSXtrain Q679 rumbles through Fairburn Ga. while headed for Lagrange Ga. at 13:31 with a former Conrail SD60 leading a SD40-2 and CW40-8. Spartin cab power is no doubt a treat on the point of such trains now with the influence of newer wide cab units roaming the rails of class ones in a low economy. Also being traffic levels are down, most older units are the first to be placed in storage or retired. The Fairburn storage track in the foreground is remnants of the old Atlanta & West Point double track which ran from East Point to Palmetto Ga. |
