Land Barge - one of C&NW's lengthy and lumbering freight trains. This eastbound 482 train, strung out across the horizon, was tied-down at this grade crossing just west of the Waseca yard. The motive power consist is seven units: C425 404-RS slug BU41-C425 402-GP7-RS32-SD18-RS32. CNW's four C425s 401-404 were the last C425s built with 50% of them shown here. They were configured as two C425/RS slug (converted RS3)/C425 sets operating on the "ALCO Line" between Huron, SD and Winona, MN at this time. The CNW C425s were transferred to Escanaba, MI later in the year.
