Remarks & Notes |
Lovers of livery and insignia will find much of interest in 'Tornado'. Named less than an hour earlier, the Royal Train passes Castleford bearing the Prince of Wales' feathers with the legend 'Ich Dien' (I serve). The twin Welsh flags sport the red dragon of Wales and the triple lamp headcode indicates that this is indeed the Royal train. Brings a lump to any pariotic British throat. The passing of the train had a precursor in that the Royal helicopter recce'd the route 5 minutes before, presumably looking for any 'ne'er do well's' lurking in the bushes! None found but well-wishers. |
