| BNSF has been rebuilding GP35s into what they are calling GP39-3s. Here is class-unit #2650 sitting on the East leg of the Wye awaiting its next assignment with a National Railway Equipment "GP38-2" (GP40 rebuild) and a "shoving platform" in the now abandoned Pico Rivera Yard. From what I read, this work is being done both at the Topeka Shops and by RELCO Locomotives in Albia, IA. Does anyone have a history on this unit that they could share? |
