| There are now regrettably few lineside locations where you can legitimately stand to get that 'up close and personal' image of passing trains. Steel palisade fencing and the encroachment of lineside vegetation have ruined many once fine locations. Fortunately, this little-used foot crossing provided an ideal vantage point to capture the 'Cotton Mill Express' climbing hard up the Pennine hills. Thankfully, the early morning cloud had burned away just two minutes before the train thundered by! |
