Utah Railway SD50S #6060 suffered a mechanical failure on May 5, 2009 while working a mid-train helper set on Soldier Summit. While under load, the 6060's prime mover shot pistons right through the crankcase. The 6060 is captured parked outside the Martin shop building, awaiting repairs to the vintage 1982 Australian EMD. Luckily, the G&W has committed to repair the 6060 and return it to service in the near future.
