Branch line railroading, Alaska style The ARR Palmer Turn runs light engine up the 10 mph Palmer Branch enroute to JD Steel at the end of the in service track to retrieve two empty gons. Service on the Palmer Branch beyond the gravel pit is unscheduled and operates only a couple of times a month as needed. The busy Glenn Highway can be seen to the left of the tracks. |
