Double Fairlie Merddin Emrys crosses the Cob at Porthmadog on its way back to Boston Lodge (the Ffestiniog's workshops and locomotive facilities visible in the background) after working the last train of the day from Blaneau Ffestiniog. Merddin Emrys was built in the Boston Lodge works in 1879 as a coal burner, was converted to oil firing in 1973 and back to coal again in 2007 |
