Remarks & Notes |
Two of four SD45s are pulling the stack pack portion of the train south (east) on the Hudson secondary to clear the switch with the Maybrook runner. The other two SD45s will grab the next portion of the train (if there are conventional TOFC/COFC cars) and pull them north to clear the switch so the stacks can tie back on and pull the whole mess clear of the switch again. Once more for any general freight cars. Once the train is reorganized (due to Conrail edict the stacks be on the head-end at all times) they can shove the whole mess north to clear the switch again and tie the other two locomotives back on the head-end and resume their trip east. This practice ended once the new connector between the Tier and ex L&HR was built in spring of 88. |
