| A northbound autos train passes the abandon AIROX mine a few miles north of Casmalia. The furnace visible in the photo was built in 1918, and was used for extracting petroleum from oil shale quarried on site. Casmalia is about 10 miles south of Guadalupe and about 35 miles south of San Luis Obispo on the ex-SP Coast Line. |
