The Empire Builder, just minutes after leaving its Williston stop 20 minutes late, cruises past a gently rolling, treeless countryside as it continues climbing the hill running for about 15 miles between Williston and Wheelock. This train, which runs between Chicago and Seattle and Portland, takes its name from James J. Hill, who founded the Great Northern Railroad and extended it from Minnesota to the Pacific Coast.
