While I've shot plenty of blue SD45-2s, mainly in my adopted home of western Montana along Montana Rail Link, I've never had the chance to shoot them so close to home in Maine. But thanks to Pan Am Railways I got that chance on the afternoon of July 19, 2009, as a pair of leased Helm units lead a train east on the old Maine Central at Winthrop, along Maranacook Lake.
