Remarks & Notes |
From a former C&BL employee, here is some info on the building in the background....
The building in the background was built in 1975 - 1976 as ' Kent ' yard office named after then Bethlehem Subsidiaries Railroads President Mr. Kent. It was named for him by C&BL Superintentant S. B. Dixon. This building served for a while as the main office of the railroad as the original office was demolished behind the Penn Traffic Building in downtown due to damage from the 1977 flood. Hard to imagine that on July 18, 1977 this railroad had 26 engines and over 20 crews a day working! |
