Remarks & Notes |
The Class 36 entered service in 1975 as the SAR's standard diesel-electric shunting locomotive. This pair of 36's in Spoornet orange livery has spent several hours shunting the fuel depot at Tarlton, and are seen heading back to Krugersdorp with a few freight wagons in tow. The "hill" behind the train is one of the massive slimes dams belonging to Harmony Gold's Randfontein mine.
