Back in the early days of diesel building GE and ALCO worked together a lot, although the relationship ended well before the -7 series rolled off the floor in Erie. In providing a flash back to the ALCO trademark, this GE adds some particulate matter to the atmosphere. The plume of smoke is a little misleading though, the GE has been idle for most of the forty mile trip from Rockwood to Johnstown, and has just been refired to assist in moving a cut of cars loaded with corn syrup.
