Remarks & Notes |
The Greenfield Village's excursion train passes the Ackley Covered Bridge enroute to Susquehanna Station on the first run of the morning. On point today is "Torch Lake", one of only two surviving Mason Locomotives that can still operate, and the only one that does with any regularity. The little 35-tonner is a coal burner and she runs on a 3-mile loop around the outer periphery of the village campus hauling a string of 4 open-air tourist cars. She make several station stops along the way and her Conductor provides a guided tour while underway. |
