Remarks & Notes |
A Seward bound freight curls south rounding Bird Point as some low clouds hang over the waters of Turnagain Arm beyond. On the rear of the train are ARR Budd RDC's 711 and 702 which are heading south for the last time. They will be set out at Portage as this freight makes a turn over the hill for Seward with some Shoreside tanks, and will be delivered in to Whittier later that evening. On October 24th they would be shoved on to the barge destined for Seattle and interchange with the BNSF for ultimate delivery to Tri-Met in Oregon for service as backup and trailers for the DMU's serving on the new WES commuter line in suburban Portland. Good bye old friends..... |
