Saturday train #2111 departs the classic Erie Victorian Oradell depot, which was built in 1890. Although this station was there during my entire childhood, and my next door neighbors lived in Oradell, I "discovered" it around age 14 in 1975 or 76, while biking with friends Gary and Howie. Repeated trips followed to watch U34CHs push and pull Pullman Standard "Dieseliners" through here. Eventually I came with a 110 Tele-Instamatic camera. Unfortunately, I'd just missed seeing E8s, GP7s, and RS3s with Stillwells and ex Santa Fe "EL Capitan" cars by a couple years. (They were not from the El Cap train, but rather called that because EL were the initials of Erie Lackawanna and the cars were ATSF).
