Remarks & Notes

The DeWitt Clinton and C&O 1601 composite the greatest display of alpha and omega design I have ever seen. Any observer can grasp the genealogy of steam locomotive engineering with this tableau. I first saw this view in 1965. 44 years later, the DeWitt Clinton and 1601 haven't changed a bit, yet I'm a bit grayer. Ironically at a museum started by a automobile manufacturer, 1601 is the most photographed object at the Ford.
