Rusting, faded and dirty, C&NW Mongrel 1506 waits for a spot in the house for some patchwork repair to be done, to get her back switching the ore yard in Escanaba. The unit was re-engined in 1959 with a 1500 hp EMD 567C and a GP-9 long hood. At this point road service is not much of an option, unless you wanted a crew mutiny and 1506 will serve out her days puttering around Escanaba, hopefully MU-ed to a C628, so an engine crew doesn't get bounced around in the drafty cab.
This will be photos that were taken north of Green Bay on the C&NW ore lines. Mainly photos of ore trains will be in this album along with some manifest trains and switch jobs that worked the area.
