Remarks & Notes |
LaGrange was a joint agency operation with Seaboard Coast Line/Atlanta & West Point. The LaGrange Switcher worked customers of both roads within the terminal limits of LaGrange. The Lagrange Agent-Operator was an A&WP employee also responsible for SCL customer functions and SCL agency duties. The long-time female A&WP agent-operator was known, behind her back, as Minnie Pearl for her spot-on match to her namesake's voice over the depot base radio. GP38-2 GA 6010 is on the transfer between the A&WP and SCL tracks behind the locomotive. The SCL main in the background and the transfer track are now gone in favor of a dual #1 and #2 main thru town shared by the CSX Lineville & A&WP Subdivisions. |
